Custom 3D Printing \u2014 Bring Your Ideas to Life
From a concept in your CAD software to a physical part in your hands. LayerzLoom's custom 3D printing service gives you complete control over material, color, finish, and quantity.
Complete Customization at Every Step
Unlike mass-produced parts, every 3D print at LayerzLoom is made to order using your exact specifications. Here is what you can customize.
Select from five professional-grade thermoplastic materials. Each offers different properties for strength, flexibility, heat resistance, and surface finish. Choose PLA for general use, ABS for durability, PETG for chemical resistance, TPU for flexibility, or Nylon for maximum strength.
Choose from over 20 color options across all materials. PLA offers the widest range with 8 colors including White, Black, Red, Blue, Green, Yellow, Orange, and Grey. Need a specific color? Add a glossy or matte paint finish as a post-processing add-on.
Adjust the scale of your model to print it larger or smaller than the original design. Order any quantity from a single prototype to a batch of identical parts. The price per unit decreases with quantity since fixed fees are shared across units.
Custom 3D Printing Use Cases
Our customers use custom 3D printing across a wide variety of industries and applications. Here are the most popular use cases.
Turn your CAD designs into physical prototypes in days, not weeks. Test form, fit, and function before committing to expensive injection molds or CNC machining. Iterate quickly by printing multiple design revisions at a fraction of traditional manufacturing costs.
Recommended: PLA for visual prototypes, ABS for functional testing
Create functional parts, enclosures, brackets, and custom components for your products. From early-stage concepts to production-ready validation models, 3D printing accelerates the entire product development lifecycle.
Recommended: ABS for durability, Nylon for engineering-grade performance
Bring digital sculptures, figurines, and artistic installations to life. Whether you are a professional artist, a cosplayer building props, or a hobbyist creating custom models, 3D printing gives you the freedom to produce intricate, one-of-a-kind pieces.
Recommended: PLA for detail, TPU for flexible elements
Build precise scale models of buildings, interiors, and urban plans. Architects and interior designers use 3D printing to create tangible representations of their designs for client presentations and design reviews.
Recommended: PLA for crisp detail and smooth surfaces
Support academic projects, final-year engineering designs, research experiments, and robotics competitions. 3D printing is an essential tool for students and researchers who need affordable, fast access to custom parts.
Recommended: PLA for cost-effectiveness, ABS for mechanical projects
Design and print custom enclosures for Raspberry Pi, Arduino, sensors, and IoT devices. Perfect-fit housings protect your electronics and give your projects a professional look without expensive tooling.
Recommended: ABS for heat resistance, PETG for impact resistance
Professional Finishing Options
Take your print to the next level with optional post-processing services. These add-ons are applied after printing to enhance the appearance, surface quality, or functionality of your part.
How Custom 3D Printing Works
1. Design Your Model
Use any 3D modeling software (Fusion 360, SolidWorks, Blender, Tinkercad, FreeCAD, SketchUp) to create your design. Export it as an STL or OBJ file.
2. Upload to LayerzLoom
Drag and drop your file on our upload page. Our system instantly analyzes the model's volume, dimensions, and geometry, and displays a 3D preview.
3. Configure Your Print
Select your material, color, quantity, and scale. Add optional finishing services like polishing or painting. The price updates in real time as you configure.
4. Review and Order
See the full price breakdown including material cost, service fee, packaging, and add-ons. Proceed to checkout and pay securely through our payment gateway.
5. We Manufacture and Ship
Our team prints your part, applies any requested finishing, performs a quality check, and ships it with tracking to your address anywhere in the world.
Supported File Formats
We accept STL (Standard Tessellation Language) and OBJ (Wavefront Object) file formats. These are the two most universally supported 3D model formats and can be exported from virtually any CAD or 3D modeling application.
STL is the industry standard for 3D printing. It describes the surface geometry of a 3D object as a mesh of triangles. Most slicing software and 3D printing services worldwide use STL as their primary input format.
OBJ files can include additional data like texture coordinates and vertex normals. They are popular in 3D art, animation, and game development workflows.
Maximum file size is 50 MB. If your model exceeds this limit, try reducing polygon count in your modeling software using decimation or mesh simplification tools.
